Toronto, Ontario -- Glasurit has a 137- year history, but the Scarlet Macaw, nickname Rudi has only been a part of it for the last 100 years. In 1925, the Scarlet Macaw became the face of the Glasurit brand.
In the golden twenties the demand for colourful paints rose and the development of sprayable nitrocellulose paints heralded in a new era. The new shift in technology called for new individual symbol for Glasurit. As the most colourful parrot with its primary colour plumage, the scarlet macaw was chosen.
