Shanghai, China -- Automechanika Shanghai opens on November 26 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre for a four-day showcase.

Organizers say the 2025 edition brings 7,465 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions, a 10 percent increase that reflects global demand for new energy technology and smart manufacturing. The show spans 383,000 square metres, the first time all 15 halls of the Shanghai venue have been in use.

Messe Frankfurt executives say the scale proves the strength of China’s automotive sector and the reach of the show’s international platform. Fiona Chiew, general manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, says this year’s 94 fringe events and more than 450 speakers reinforce the fair’s role in global collaboration. Li Zhang, chairperson of China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd, says the rise in automaker participation shows companies are shifting from visiting to actively engaging as they look to expand supply chains and international presence.

Major brands, including Chery Holding, GAC Aion, Li Auto, Qingling Motors and Tesla, will join supply chain subsidiaries from China’s largest manufacturing hubs. Exhibitors will present developments across fuel-powered and new energy vehicles, covering research, manufacturing, sales and after-sales service.

New energy and connectivity drive this year’s expansion. The sector grows 50 percent with about 30 debut exhibitors such as ATTC, C*Core, CalmCar, EVPT, Hella Bhap, HighStar Na+, Quectel, Siemens Xcelerator and TIANNENG. About 40 percent of all exhibitors will present new energy or connectivity solutions ranging from semiconductor chips and assisted driving systems to intelligent chassis, powertrain controllers and robotics.

Parts and components expand by 10 percent, while the tyres and wheels section grows nearly 50 percent. New exhibitors include 3M, BMTS Technology, Castrol, ENOC, FFT, Garrett, GPC, Huntsman, Jingu, Karbel, Miba, MLMH, REFLEK, Shunfuchang, Tanfei, Wheelegend, Winsen and Yuchai Petronas. Returning brands include ABT, Aisin, Astemo, Autel, AUTOBACS, Bilstein, BorgWarner, Bosch, Continental, Henkel, Launch, MAHLE, Sensata, Toyota Boshoku China, ZF and Zhongding Group Perfusion.

Fifteen country and region pavilions will house exhibitors from Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand and Türkiye. Visitor registrations have reached nearly 160 countries and regions, up 25 percent from last year, including 261 buyer delegations representing 24,000 visitors.

Programming begins on November 25 with the International Automotive Industry Conference 2025 – CEO Summit, which sets the pace for technical seminars, training sessions, networking events and market forums. New additions include a seven-part technical seminar series on thermal management, ADAS and intelligent chassis systems. Talent development programming continues with the Elite Pathway Programme, while supply-demand matching events connect carmakers and component suppliers.

Innovation4Mobility will draw interest through more than 30 presentations and a start-up zone showing commercial-ready technologies. Demonstrations in the Green Repair Area will combine product showcases, skills training and sustainability workshops. The Customising X Tech Area will highlight vehicle culture and aftermarket trends alongside experiences such as the Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge.

A live broadcast from November 25 to 28 will feature expert interviews and booth tours for remote audiences.

Automechanika Shanghai is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd.
