The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence is hosting a free webinar on May 19, 2026, focused on electric vehicle technician training through Weber State University’s automotive technology program in Utah.

The one-hour session begins at 4 p.m. ET and features Weber State automotive technology professor John Kelly and department chair Jessica Slater.

The webinar covers Weber State’s three-phase EV training program, including two online classes and a five-day EV boot camp in Utah tied to ASE xEV and ASE L3 light-duty electric and hybrid vehicle certifications.

According to Weber State training materials, the boot camp includes hands-on instruction covering high-voltage safety, EV diagnosis and repair procedures using hybrid and electric vehicles.

The online courses cover topics including battery systems, inverters, regenerative braking and EV drivetrains.

The webinar also examines how coursework can be converted into college credit. Registered attendees will receive a certificate of attendance for the live session.
