CARSTAR proudly recognizes CARSTAR Onoway (Jack’s Autobody) for turning this year’s Polynesian Days festival into a major fundraising success for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

The annual festival was held along the shores of Lac Ste. Anne in Alberta Beach, Alta., from Aug. 1 to 3, bringing together residents and visitors for a weekend of celebration, community spirit and charitable giving.

As dedicated CARSTAR franchise partners and passionate community supporters, owner Dave and Candi Cooper embraced the festival atmosphere from start to finish. Alongside their nephew, Trent, Dave and Candi joined the festivities in Polynesian-themed attire, welcoming attendees and helping to create a fun and engaging experience for guests throughout the weekend.

The CARSTAR Onoway team was awarded a prime location on Main Street directly in front of the Village Office and just steps from the beach in recognition of their longstanding commitment to the community. From this high-traffic location, the CARSTAR Onoway team operated a branded fundraising BBQ, serving hot dogs, chips and bottled water to thousands of festival goers, with all proceeds supporting CF Canada.

“Polynesian Days is one of the highlights of the summer in our community, and we’re proud to be part of an event that brings people together while supporting such an important cause,” said Dave Cooper, owner of CARSTAR Onoway. “Seeing the support from residents, visitors and fellow businesses was incredible, and we’re grateful to everyone who stopped by our BBQ and helped us more than double last year’s fundraising total.”

Thanks to the generosity of attendees and the tireless efforts of volunteers, CARSTAR Onoway raised $1,476 for CF Canada during the three-day festival, more than doubling last year’s total. CARSTAR Onoway would also like to recognize Bobby Gunderson of 3M for donating his time to serve as chef for the fundraiser, cooking hot dogs throughout the event and keeping festival-goers well fed while supporting a great cause.

CARSTAR Onoway played an integral role in the festival, co-sponsoring parade judging activities and supporting the event’s broader community initiatives.

“Dave and the entire CARSTAR Onoway team consistently demonstrate what it means to be community-driven,” said Andrew Northrup, zone director of operations at CARSTAR Canada. “Their commitment to supporting local events and raising funds for CF Canada reflects the values that define the CARSTAR network. Doubling their fundraising efforts is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the impact they continue to make in their community.”

CARSTAR Onoway continues to demonstrate the power of local businesses making a lasting impact where they live and work by supporting local organizations, sponsoring community events and fundraising for important causes.
