A Toronto collision repair facility is preparing to host an open house with the Porsche Club of Canada that will showcase repair practices, restoration work and Porsche vehicles owned by club members.

427 Auto Collision, a Toronto-based collision repair and restoration facility, says it will host the Shift Into Spring event in partnership with the Porsche Club of Canada on April 26 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The event will include vendor displays, technical sessions and a parts swap for Porsche owners and enthusiasts. Club members will also display their vehicles at the facility.

Organizer Jessica D'Alessandro say visitors will have the opportunity to see the repair standards followed by technicians at the shop and learn more about collision repair and restoration work involving Porsche vehicles.

“It’s a really fun event and we’ve been doing it for several years. It’s a nice, fun day for families with kids — there’s good food and a good cause,” she said.

A food truck will be present during the event, with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish Canada, the charity that grants wishes for children with critical illnesses.

“Make-A-Wish has been our go-to charity for many years. Children with terrible prognoses have dreams and they do their best to make them happen. It’s a wonderful charity. I just found out one of our staff members was even a beneficiary when he was a kid. It’s so important,” said Johnny D’Alessandro.

The open house is expected to attract Porsche enthusiasts as well as members of the public interested in vehicle restoration and collision repair.
