Tropicana is hosting its Autobody Pre-Apprenticeship Program Job Fair on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tropicana Community Services Headquarters located at 1385 Huntingwood Drive, Scarborough, ON. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet skilled and motivated students who are ready to begin their placements and take the next step toward careers in the autobody industry.
Students will get to participate in a career development and networking session with experienced autobody professionals, and media representatives will be in attendance to highlight the event and celebrate the partnerships supporting future skilled trades professionals.
The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a break for lunch, while the rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to networking and career development.
Najma Mahamud, program coordinator for the Tropicana Autobody Pre-Apprenticeship Program, told Collision Repair that the event was designed for students to gain a better understanding of the industry.
“It’s kind of overstimulating sometimes, when you’re thrown into an industry and told to navigate it,” Mahamud said. “So we just want to give them that support, and I think that with all the professionals here, it’s great to get their perspective of the industry and how to translate what the students are doing in their program into a career path.”
Organizations are welcome to join and are encouraged to consider offering placement opportunities to Tropicana’s students. Those wanting to take part in the event or hire a pre-apprenticeship student can contact Mahamud at [email protected]
