In the final installment of Collision Repair’s three-part series highlighting women nominated by their peers, the following professionals are recognized for the impact they’ve made within their organizations and the broader collision repair community. From experienced leaders to rising talent, these women represent the growing presence of female professionals helping shape the future of the industry through dedication, leadership and a commitment to continuous learning.

Jayla Schmidt, senior operations manager at Color Compass

Jayla Schmidt has spent more than two decades building a career defined by leadership, resilience and operational expertise. As a senior operations manager with Color Compass, she oversees her territory while supporting partners and colleagues across the industry.

Schmidt was nominated by colleague Josh Stoesz, who pointed to her ability to lead with confidence while consistently delivering results. Over her 24-year career, she has built a reputation for strong leadership and a steady approach to managing operations while fostering trusted relationships across the sector.

“Jayla leads with confidence, expertise, and determination,” said Stoesz. “She manages her territory with authority, earning the respect of colleagues and partners alike while consistently delivering results.”

Toni Kotnik, customer service supervisor, Don Mor Automotive Group

Toni Kotnik brings energy, mentorship and a people-first approach to her role as customer service supervisor with Don-Mor Automotive Group in London, Ont. Before joining the organization, Kotnik spent several years building experience in the industry in Tulsa, Okla., where she worked with Copart.

Nominated by colleague Maryam Khan, Kotnik is recognized for the enthusiasm and support she brings to her team each day. Colleagues say she places a strong emphasis on celebrating milestones and creating opportunities for mentorship, helping team members build confidence while developing their skills.

“Toni is a joyful, exuberant presence who leads with deep loyalty and genuine care, treating her work family with the same devotion she shows her own,” said Khan. “She never misses a milestone or company event, understanding that celebrating achievements, big or small, builds connection and pride within a team.”

Voula Vavougios, manager, Carmen and Frank Collision

Voula Vavougios has built her career in collision repair by developing a strong understanding of the operations that keep a shop running smoothly. As manager of Carmen & Frank Collision Centre, she has worked to learn every aspect of the business, from estimating and production flow to insurer negotiations and financial performance.

That hands-on experience continues to shape how she approaches leadership, with a focus on continuous learning and building confidence through knowledge of both the shop floor and front office..

“Do not be intimidated by the fact that it is traditionally male dominated,” she said. “Competence, curiosity and commitment speak louder than gender.”
