On the Move: Caliber appoints chief client officer

Caliber Sorenson

Caliber Holdings LLC has appointed Max Sorensen chief client officer, a role focused on enterprise client strategy across Caliber Collision, Caliber Auto Glass and Caliber Fleet Solutions.

In the new role, he will lead Caliber’s enterprise client strategy, including partnerships, client collaboration and the connection between customer-facing work and operational performance.

In a press release, the Lewisville, Texas-based automotive repair and service business also announced Sorensen will report to Todd Dillender, chief operating officer.

“Max’s client-first mindset and ability to translate operational excellence into meaningful partner outcomes make him uniquely suited for this role,” Dillender said in the June 18 release. “He has a deep understanding of our clients’ evolving needs and a strong track record of building relationships that drive shared success.”

Dillender said Sorensen is expected to help strengthen partnerships and improve the client experience across Caliber.

Sorensen brings more than 22 years of industry and operations experience to the role. He most recently served as senior vice-president of operations for Caliber Collision’s Northeast region, and a separate biography says he previously oversaw about 375 collision centres across the Midwest and Northeastern United States.

Sorensen began in the collision industry in 2003 as an autobody detailer at Keenan Autobody. Within five years, he had become general manager of the company’s largest facility. After ABRA acquired Keenan Autobody in 2015, he became a district manager overseeing seven facilities and later served as market vice-president for Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

He previously helped create Caliber’s Technician Apprentice Program, known as TAP, which is designed to help aspiring autobody technicians build the skills needed to begin careers in collision repair.

“I’m honoured to step into this role at such a pivotal time for our industry,” Sorensen said in the release. “Our clients are navigating increasing complexity, and they need partners who can combine strong relationships with innovative solutions.”

Sorensen said he plans to focus on strengthening partnerships, accelerating Caliber’s capabilities and delivering connected service experiences for clients and customers.
