Jane Pocock has been announced as the next president of Copart, a Texas-based online vehicle auction and remarketing business.
Pocock joined Copart in January 2019 as managing director of Copart UK. She later took responsibility for operations throughout the British Isles.
Before joining Copart, Pocock was chief executive of Vans Direct, a British commercial vehicle retailer.
“Jane has delivered outstanding results while building strong teams and strengthening our culture,” said Jay Adair, executive chair and incoming chief executive officer of Copart.
Pocock’s promotion comes during a wider leadership change at the vehicle auction business.
Jeff Liaw will step down as chief executive officer and director on July 31. Adair, a former Copart chief executive, will return to the position that day. Liaw will serve as a special adviser during the transition.
Copart has more than 250 locations in 11 countries. More than four million units were sold through its auctions during the past year. Its online platforms connect vehicle sellers with approximately one million members in more than 185 countries.
Copart's Canadian network includes locations in Alberta, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec.
