Strengthens Operations, Eyes Disciplined Growth
JLM Metal Recycling enters 2026 having firmly settled into its new offices, continuing a yearlong focus on strengthening its operational foundation. With facilities in Waterford and Hagersville, Ontario, the company has spent the past year refining internal systems, investing in its people and upgrading key assets to support long-term growth.
After pandemic-related delays, the move into the new office space marked an important milestone for the business. The offices are now fully operational and have become a central hub for improved communication, organization and day-to-day workflow.
“We’re past the transition stage now,” said Jamie Maillet, owner of JLM Metal Recycling. “The team is settled in, and that’s allowed us to focus more clearly on how we operate day-to-day.”
Throughout 2025, JLM continued to prioritize efficiency across all areas of the business. Investments were made in upgraded workstations, fleet improvements and staff development, ensuring employees have the tools and support needed to work safely and productively.
Technology has remained a key driver of these improvements, particularly through the adoption of ScrapIT software. The platform replaces manual entry and spreadsheets with real-time tracking, barcode scanning and more efficient cash-out procedures. This transition has reduced paperwork, improved accuracy and allowed staff to focus more on output and customer service.
“We’ve learned that efficiency isn’t just about speed — it’s about giving people the right systems so they can do their jobs properly,” Maillet said.
Looking ahead to 2026, JLM Metal Recycling plans to continue upgrading its infrastructure while closely monitoring market trends and material flows.
