Plastic Push: Plasnomic opens Texas training centre

Plasnomic is launching the Plastic Repair Excellence Center in Dallas, Texas, in August, the first site in a planned network of plastic repair facilities.

In a press release, officials from the U.S.-based plastic repair standards and training organization said the Dallas centre will operate as a live repair, research and innovation site, rather than a traditional training facility. It will support real-world repairs, repair method testing, product evaluation, materials recovery and training.

“This is far more than a facility,” said Mario Dimovski, president of Plasnomic(pictured). “It is the first physical step toward building the future framework for plastic repair.”

The centre is intended to help establish data-driven best practices for plastic repairs. According to the release, the site will also showcase repair methods, tools, products, recycling programs and new technologies.

“We are excited to bring this new development to the industry as we move closer to establishing data-driven and technical best practices for plastic repairs,” said Dimovski.

Plasnomic is an international organization focused on automotive plastic repair standards, training, testing and certification. Its work centres on helping the collision repair sector decide when plastic parts can be repaired rather than replaced, using data-backed repair methods, technical evaluation and industry collaboration.
