CIC Announcement: Consumer Advocacy Task Force launches

Carey

The Collision Industry Conference is launching a new body to confront the challenges related to advanced driver-assistance systems and related repair practices.

"I'm pleased to announce the formation of the Consumer Advocacy Task Force," CIC chair Dan Risley announced during a meeting held on April 22.

The initiative originated with the CIC’s Past Chairs Committee and was presented in-session by chair Dan Risley, vice-president of quality repair and market development at CCC Intelligent Solutions. It is structured as a finite task force with a defined endpoint rather than a standing committee.

The 11-member group draws from past CIC chairs and committee representatives and is structured as a closed task force. Its work will focus on identifying issues tied to ADAS repair and calibration, compiling findings and presenting recommendations to the CIC body.

The group is chaired by Sean Carey, president of SCG Management Consultants (pictured). Lou DiLisio, a past CIC chair and industry consultant, serves as co-chair. Members include Erick Bickett, former vice-president of claims at Nationwide; Jeff Peevy, vice-president of OEM and industry technical relations at I-CAR; Darrell Amberson, president of operations at LaMettry's Collision; and Michael Quinn, vice-president of business development at AirPro Diagnostics.

Additional members include Barry Dorn, director of collision repair performance at AAA; Josh McFarlin, senior vice-president of operations at AirPro Diagnostics; Jill Tuggle, director of government affairs at American Property Casualty Insurance Association; Liz Stein, director of strategic initiatives at Certified Collision Group; and Bud Center, vice-president of industry relations and workforce development at TechForce Foundation.
