Jake Korolis has taken over as executive director of the Saskatchewan Association of Automotive Repairers, with May 19 marking his first day in the role.

The move was announced in a May 19 member circular from longtime executive director Tom Bissonnette, who said he will remain involved with the organization during the transition.

Korolis joins the organization from a business-development background having previously worked with the Saskatoon-based Tamarack Mining Services.

In the May 12 SAAR update, Bissonnette described Korolis as “a sharp and capable young professional with a strong background in business development, problem-solving, and organizational leadership.”

“As of Tuesday, May 19th, we begin an exciting new chapter,” Bissonnette wrote in the May 19 circular. “Jake Korolis will be stepping into the role of executive director.”

Bissonnette, who has led SAAR for the past nine years, said he has “full confidence” in Korolis and encouraged members to support him during the transition.

“I know many of you have grown used to collaborating with me over the years, and I truly appreciate that,” Bissonnette wrote.

“My encouragement to you is to welcome Jake, share your insights, and support him as you have supported me.”

SAAR is based in Saskatoon and represents automotive repair businesses across Saskatchewan.
