CSN MJ is sponsoring Bim on the BLVD, a two-day Barbados-themed event set for July 24 and 25, 2026, in Scarborough, Ont.

The event will take place at Barbados Boulevard and Eglinton Avenue East. It is being promoted as a Toronto Crop Over celebration. Bim is a widely used nickname for Barbados.

Bim on the BLVD will feature an Oistins-inspired food village and market, live music and culture stage, road tennis tournament, VIP rum cove and family zone. Early-bird day passes are $15, while children 10 and under are free. Event hours will run from Friday, July 24 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday, July 25 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The event is produced by LUX Carnival, a Greater Toronto Area Caribbean carnival band led by CEO and co-founder Sharon Niles and managing director Chad Wickham.

LUX Carnival’s website states its mission includes creating cultural experiences and raising awareness for kids with disabilities.

The Caribbean Camera reported that LUX entered the Toronto Carnival route in 2023 after Niles served as a section leader the previous year. LUX won Small Band of the Year in 2024.

Bim on the BLVD is scheduled one week before the 2026 Toronto Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade on Aug. 1.
