CARSTAR franchise partners and staff raised more than $30,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada during this year’s Walk to Make CF History.

The national fundraising event was held Sunday, May 31, with CARSTAR participation at 11 walk sites across Canada. More than 30 CARSTAR locations took part.

The collision repair franchise network has now helped raise more than $6 million for cystic fibrosis research, care and advocacy.

The 2026 walks included a mix of fundraising, family activities and local events. Sports mascots also appeared at several sites, including Louie of the Edmonton Oil Kings, Rex of the Kitchener Rangers and Leo of the B.C. Lions.

CARSTAR Johnny K Group raised $3,250 in Edmonton, where the group hosted a tire-changing pit stop activation despite rainy weather. CARSTAR Cambridge raised $3,675 at the Kitchener walk, with a photo booth and a raffle for a Sidney Crosby jersey.

CARSTAR Thunder Bay raised $3,400 through online fundraising and a community barbecue. CARSTAR Scarborough Northeast raised $2,000 in Toronto with a rock-themed activation tied to the “Kiss CF Goodbye” concert initiative.

Other participating locations included CARSTAR Rich’s Auto Collision in Campbell River, B.C.; CARSTAR Dartmouth in Nova Scotia; CARSTAR Raydar Collision Group at the Vancouver walk; CARSTAR Victoria on Vancouver Island; CARSTAR Manitoba Group; and CARSTAR Hamilton Stores.

The Hamilton event included franchise partners Saputo Capital Group and Chavez Auto Group, along with corporate leadership. The group hosted a children’s activation recognizing CARSTAR’s $6-million fundraising milestone.

“What makes CARSTAR powerful is how every store shows up for their community in its own way,” said Johnny Kloeckes, owner of CARSTAR Johnny K Group. “Being part of this network means we can turn local energy into real, measurable impact that contributes to something much bigger than any single event.”
