The Raydar Collision Group is expanding into Alberta through the acquisition of four established CARSTAR locations: CARSTAR Calgary Bowness, CARSTAR McKnight, CARSTAR Lethbridge, and CARSTAR Medicine Hat.
The MSO, which is led by Bill Davidson (right), began with his CARSTAR locations in British Columbia. Raydar now boasts 14 locations within the province.
In a press release, the franchise celebrated the legacies of the three outgoing owners.
Patricia and Rob Fahey initially started as Excel Collision in Calgary over twenty years ago and was the first CARSTAR franchise in Alberta, through which the previous owners of CARSTAR Calgary Bowness and CARSTAR McKnigh built a reputation for exceptional customer service and community involvement over two decades in business. Known for their charitable support, local sponsorships, and family-oriented approach, the Faheys helped establish CARSTAR's presence in Alberta and leave behind a lasting legacy.
Bruce Hemstreet’s connection to CARSTAR stretches back even further. One of the organization’s earliest corporate employees, Hemstreet worked alongside founder Larry Jeffries during the development of the franchise system before becoming a successful multi-store owner. Bruce eventually partnered with Trevor Jones in Lethbridge, Alberta, expanding soon after into Medicine Hat and Olds, Alberta, and forming the Badlands CARSTAR Group. Through CARSTAR Lethbridge and CARSTAR Medicine Hat within the Badlands CARSTAR Group, he built a reputation for operational excellence, leadership, and a deep commitment to the CARSTAR brand.
"Patricia and Rob have left an incredible mark on CARSTAR and their communities," said Andrew Northrup, Zone Director, Operations, CARSTAR Canada. "Through their dedication to customers, employees, and community involvement, they've built a legacy that extends well beyond collision repair. Along with longtime operator Bruce Hemstreet, they've helped strengthen the CARSTAR brand across Alberta. We’re excited for the Raydar Collision Group to carry these locations forward and build on that strong foundation."
"These locations have been built by people who care deeply about their customers, employees and communities," said Davidson. "We're honoured to continue the legacy established by Patricia, Rob and Bruce while investing in the future growth and success of these businesses."
