Dream Team: Solera and PPG tracking emmissions

Solpp

Toronto, Ontario -- Solera is partnering with PPG to integrate carbon emissions data from automotive coatings and repair materials into its sustainable estimatics platform.

The collaboration will allow repairers to calculate emissions generated during specific repair processes, including those related to paint application and drying.

Under the agreement, PPG will provide detailed emissions data for its premium refinish coatings portfolio, enabling more accurate repair-level carbon estimates. The integration is designed to help bodyshops track emissions and comply with emerging sustainability reporting requirements.

“The partnership with Solera marks an important milestone in our mission to deliver sustainably advantaged, digital and automated solutions to our customers,” said Juan Navarro, marketing director EMEA at PPG. “By combining our trusted refinish products and digital solutions, we enable body shops to reduce waste, improve efficiency and monitor and lower their carbon footprint with precision.”

Solera said the collaboration supports greater transparency in automotive repair by linking product-specific data to real-time estimating tools. The company has previously worked with other coatings manufacturers to expand emissions tracking capabilities across the repair sector.

Both firms stated that the initiative is intended to enhance environmental accountability within the collision repair industry and provide businesses with more precise carbon reporting aligned with global sustainability standards.
