Italy-based braking systems manufacturer Brembo announced Monday that its Sensify intelligent braking platform has entered large-scale series production with a global automaker.
The company said the braking system will come standard across the manufacturer’s vehicle program, marking what Brembo described as a milestone for software-defined vehicle technology and by-wire braking systems.
Sensify was designed as a scalable braking platform intended to support advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous vehicle applications. Brembo said the system uses a fluid-free architecture that distributes braking intelligence at the wheel level, removing traditional hydraulic circuits and centralized actuation.
According to the company, the design allows for more precise modulation of braking forces in changing driving conditions.
Brembo CEO Daniele Schillaci said the launch moves the company’s intelligent braking strategy into full-scale production.
“Sensify translates our vision of an intelligent, integrated braking platform into industrial reality,” said Schillaci. “Designed to orchestrate the entire corner ecosystem, it supports safer mobility, while paving the way for the next generation of software-defined vehicles, reflecting our long-term purpose of shaping a zero accident future.”
Brembo also announced it has signed additional Sensify contracts with new customers and expects the platform to be installed in hundreds of thousands of vehicles annually.
