On May 12, Hunter Engineering announced that Rivian has approved Ultimate ADAS for its complete vehicle lineup, which includes the new R2, the EDV (RCV) and generations one and two of the R1 (truck and SUV).

The Rivian approval increased Hunter’s OEM total to nine for the alignment and static calibration system, joining Acura, Honda, Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota. The company expects additional OEM approvals to be announced in the near future.

“With this approval, Rivian’s network of service centres, certified collision centres and authorized service providers now have access to the industry-leading ADAS calibration technology to service and document vehicles with confidence and efficiency,” said David Agnew, Hunter ADAS product management, in the press release.

Hunter’s Ultimate ADAS is a system that eliminates error-prone manual layouts by combining standard-setting alignment technology with a guided target placement system. The system’s key component is the Gimbal-mounted lasers, which reduce setup time by up to 70 per cent for some procedures. In addition, onscreen guidance increases target placement precision by working with the laser gimbals to automatically compensate for non-level floors, monitor for placement errors and confirm accuracy.

Ultimate ADAS can be accessed directly through Hunter’s custom portal, HunterNet 2 and now includes dynamic and static calibration coverage for 19 OEMs.
