John Bean has released a new video to help collision repair shops explain the importance of advanced driver assistance systems calibration to customers.
The video, titled “Why ADAS Calibration Matters More Than You Think,” explains how proper calibration helps ensure vehicle safety systems perform accurately and operate as intended.
“ADAS shapes how modern vehicles see and respond to the road, and even routine repairs can change how these systems perform,” said Jordan Krebs, product manager for alignment and ADAS, Americas for John Bean. “Understanding when calibration is required, and why accuracy matters, is essential, especially when fast, camera-based checks can quickly reveal ADAS-related alignment issues without manual guesswork.”
Krebs added that John Bean’s Tru-Point ADAS calibration tool helps shops bring clarity to the calibration process through documentation that can be shared with motorists.
The Tru-Point system verifies ADAS-related wheel alignment values and monitors setup steps to help ensure OEM safety standards are met before calibration begins. Its camera technology enables precise target positioning and automatically adjusts to the vehicle’s placement. The system also generates a report documenting the steps completed by the technician.
John Bean’s Tru-Point website also features system coverage videos demonstrating calibration procedures, with guidance on floor space and lighting, service data, vehicle alignment, target placement and scan tool integrations. An ADAS profit calculator is available to help shops estimate the potential revenue from offering ADAS services.
