Electrified Coatings: BASF announces partnership with NIO to develop coatings technology for electric vehicles

Toronto, Ontario – BASF Coatings recently announced a partnership with NIO with the signing of a Letter of Intent aimed at establishing coating technology for the automaker’s electric vehicles.

As noted in a recent press release, as part of the strategic cooperation, BASF intends to provide NIO with an extensive range of products tailored to meet specific technical requirements, and will further offer value-added services including: colour design, colour development, digital solutions, sustainability initiatives, workshops and technical support.

“The signing of today’s strategic partnership agreement builds on ten years of successful collaboration. NIO has established a leading position for electric vehicles through advanced technology and a clear brand identity,” said Uta Holzenkamp in the release. “Together, we will keep on exploring innovative technologies and will support NIO in reaching its sustainability targets and future goals.”
