CARSTAR has expanded its Quebec network with the addition of a new collision repair facility in Eastern Quebec, formally integrating CARSTAR Matane, also known as Grondin Carrosserie.

The shop, located in Matane, Que., joins the CARSTAR banner as part of the organization’s continued growth strategy across the province. The facility operates at 31 Route du Ruisseau à la Loutre and has served the Matane market since 2016.

The business is led by Samuel Grondin and Julie Côté, who each bring 17 years of collision repair experience. Grondin has operated the body shop for 17 years, working alongside Côté, a collision repair technician. The partners first met while attending the Rimouski Collision Repair School, where a shared interest in the trade ultimately led to a long-term professional partnership.

Rémi Michaud, CARSTAR’s Zone Director for Quebec, pointed to both operational and cultural alignment in the new partnership.

“We are thrilled to welcome CARSTAR Matane into our network. Samuel and Julie embody exactly what we value at CARSTAR — a family-oriented business built on expertise, passion, and a genuine commitment to the community,” said Michaud.  “Their arrival strengthens CARSTAR’s presence in Eastern Quebec and ensures motorists in the region receive high-quality, trustworthy service.”

Prior to joining the network, the Matane operation established a strong regional reputation, reflected in consistently high customer satisfaction scores across online review platforms. The shop maintains a 5.0-star Google rating, alongside similarly strong ratings on Facebook and PagesJaunes.

Grondin and Côté attribute their business stability to a disciplined repair philosophy summarized in their guiding motto: “If we’re going to do it, let’s do it right.”

Beyond collision repair, the business maintains visible ties to the local community. The shop supports regional initiatives including Demoiselle de l’Est / Snowmobile Racing (HDG) as well as motocross athlete Maxime Caron, reflecting the owners’ long-standing involvement in motorsports.
