In celebration of International Women's Day, CARSTAR hosted 40 women from its Ontario locations at the Toronto Raptors Women’s Empowerment Night on March 8.

Held during a Raptors game in Toronto, the evening featured a CARSTAR fan activation, including a photo booth that generated more than 300 interactions as attendees celebrated women in sports.

“At CARSTAR, people are at the heart of everything we do,” said Oghogho Oteju, senior manager, Marketing, CARSTAR. “Our organization and our industry are strengthened by the incredible women who lead, innovate and support our teams every day. Hosting our store partners for the Raptors Women’s Empowerment Night was a meaningful way to celebrate their contributions and reinforce our commitment to championing women across our network.”

The company also welcomed Nakissa Koomalsingh, known as “Keesa K,” to its activation. A former varsity player and Nipissing University alumna, Koomalsingh is founder and CEO of HOOPQUEENS, which launched Canada’s first paid women’s basketball league.

“Events like this highlight the importance of creating spaces where women feel supported and celebrated,” said Natasha Woods of CARSTAR Ancaster, CARSTAR Ancaster West, CARSTAR Guelph and CARSTAR Fergus. “It was inspiring to be surrounded by so many strong women from across our network and to share that experience together.”

CARSTAR’s presence at the game is part of its ongoing partnership with the Raptors, now in its third consecutive year, supporting community-focused activations that promote leadership, diversity and opportunity.
