Joining Up: OARA announces new members ahead of convention

Rss

The Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association announced two new associate members joined the association just before the launch of its 2026 convention and trade show in Markham.

“The OARA Convention continues to grow and be the place to be for the entire auto recycling ecosystem,” said Steve Fletcher in pre-event notes outlining this year’s additions.

The convention, running March 26–28, brings together recyclers, suppliers and stakeholders from across the sector and continues to develop as a central meeting point for Canada’s auto recycling industry.

Larush Business Solutions, which is located in both Kelowna, B.C. and Lucan, Ont., joined as a new associate member.

The company specializes in catalytic converters, working directly with recycling yards to identify, price and process the material based on current market conditions. It also manages the movement of recycled automotive products across domestic and international markets, including shipments into Asia and Latin America. The company focuses on helping suppliers better understand pricing and improve returns.

Garrett Eidem and Jason Black will be attending the event on behalf of the business.

Scrap Metal Auction Sales Hub (SMASH), based in Winnipeg, Man., also joined as an associate member. The company operates an online business-to-business auction platform designed specifically for Canadian recyclers and processors. The platform allows users to buy and sell catalytic converters, as well as ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, through a network of vetted Canadian buyers. The service is structured without subscription fees, with the goal of improving price discovery and access to buyers across the country.

Jeffrey Zwirsky will be attending the event on behalf of the business.
