Toronto, Ontario -- U.S. developer Crush Software Solutions has raised US$3 million to modernize its yard management system for auto recyclers after acquiring it from S3 Software Solutions, the platform’s original developer.
The announcement, issued through Access Newswire on Oct. 1, confirmed that Crush now owns and operates the long-established “Crush” system, used by more than 200 self-service auto-recycling yards across North America.
The funding will support the rollout of a next-generation version, Crush 2.0, rebuilt on modern cloud infrastructure with real-time analytics and stronger data security.
Company officials said the new platform adds data-driven vehicle acquisition tools, integrated marketplaces for parts sourcing and sales, and enterprise-grade dashboards to help operators track key performance indicators.
Crush founder and chief operating officer Dimitri Gerontis, who previously led S3 Software Solutions, said the redesign is meant to give recyclers greater flexibility in a changing market.
“Our focus is on speed, reliability and innovation,” he said in the announcement. “Crush 2.0 will deliver advanced tools that empower yards to compete in a digital marketplace.”
Chief executive officer Ryan Paterson said the investment positions auto recyclers to adapt to new challenges such as increasingly complex vehicle electronics and the growth of electric-vehicle dismantling. “The auto-recycling industry is evolving rapidly,” he said. “We’re giving operators the technology they need to stay competitive and profitable.”
Crush 2.0 was previewed earlier this month at the Automotive Recyclers Association’s 82nd Annual Convention and Expo in Birmingham, Alabama, where the company demonstrated new cloud-based tools for inventory, pricing and compliance.
Crush Software Solutions is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. It serves clients throughout the United States and Canada.
