Toronto, Ontario -- BASF Canada has appointed Marian Van Hoek as managing director as of July 1, 2025. Hoek will now assume responsibility for BASF Canada headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario. BASF Canada is a subsidiary of BASF SE, one of the leading chemical companies worldwide.
Hoek has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from Western University and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. Joining BASF Canada in 2015, Hoek has held numerous roles, including legal counsel and senior counsel. Before her promotion, Hoek was general counsel and chief compliance officer, in addition to being a member of the Canadian Leadership Team and the Canadian Executive Committee.
The company’s LinkedIn announcement on July 2 congratulated Hoek, highlighting her more than 20 years of experience in the legal field. Before working for BASF Canada, Hoek was a legal counsel for BlackBerry Limited.
