Toronto, Ontario -- The Canadian Welding Bureau is improving access to welding training and certification for collision repair professionals across the country by partnering with an industry training and recognition program.
The CWB is joining I-CAR Canada’s national training network through its Sustaining Partner Program. As part of the agreement, collision industry professionals taking updated CWB courses will now be eligible for I-CAR Canada credits.
Steel structural technicians, whose work involves some of the most complex and safety-critical parts of a vehicle, require ongoing welding certification to meet I-CAR Canada’s training requirements. Access to CWB’s expanded course offerings is expected to reduce barriers for technicians across Canada seeking high-quality, recognized certification.
The move also reflects CWB’s broader aim to increase its presence in the automotive sector. The organization, which provides certification and training across industries like construction and manufacturing, has previously struggled to play a role in automotive welding training activities.
