Toronto, Ontario -- CCC Intelligent Solutions-backed collision repair facilities are gaining faster access to OEM advanced driver assistance system calibration requirements.
The shift comes as the result of a partnership between the software provider and Kinetic Automation, a firm that develops collision repair technology using robotics, software and artificial intelligence systems.
CCC Intelligent Solutions announced Tuesday it has added Kinetic to its diagnostics network, allowing repair facilities to view calibration recommendations directly within CCC ONE software alongside repair estimates.
The integration aims to help shops identify which ADAS components need calibration earlier in the repair process, reducing time spent on manual research and improving repair planning.
"As ADAS systems quickly become a standard in the repair process, more accurate calibration planning is critical," said Dan Risley, vice-president of automotive service group market solutions at CCC (pictured).
ADAS features like automatic emergency braking and lane departure warnings require precise calibration after collision repairs. The systems have become increasingly common in newer vehicles, adding complexity to repair workflows.
Kinetic's technology automatically identifies manufacturer calibration requirements and provides recommendations to repair facilities. The integration connects those recommendations to corresponding work files in CCC ONE.
"This connection eliminates guesswork around ADAS requirements and helps estimators and technicians stay aligned on what needs to be done before the vehicle leaves the shop," said Courtney Walters, head of customer success at Kinetic.
The integration is available at no additional cost for existing CCC and Kinetic users. The platform connects more than 35,000 businesses in the property and casualty insurance sector, including insurers, repair shops, automakers and parts suppliers.
