Inventory Expansion: Hunter Engineering renovating Aurora warehouse

Toronto, Ontario -- An international auto repair equipment provider is planning to double the inventory space of distribution centre in Aurora, Ontario.

Hunter Engineering Canada designs, manufactures and sells auto service equipment. It is best known for its pioneering wheel alignment system software, computerized wheel balancers, tire changers, car brake lathes, vehicle lifts and inspection equipment.

Over the next five months, the company will redesign its existing facility with a new pallet flow system and five new aisles to allow for more skid spaces.  After it reopens, the 500 square metre facility will also feature a new auto parts room with a sequential layout meant to speed up processing. 

The company expects the redesign to facilitate faster lead times.

The warehouse redesign follows a surge in interest in Hunter products. In the past three years, it has one seven awards at the Product Technology Innovation Awards. Last year, its the Ultimate ADAS system and HawkEye XL Alignment System both received innovation awards.

This isn’t the only major investment the company has made to its infrastructure in recent months. Last summer, Hunter launched a new website meant to offer a streamlined user experience.
