Toronto, Ontario -- Hunter Engineering’s remote diagnostic suite has been approved across Subaru’s U.S. collision and dealer network.
“It’s been exciting to partner with Subaru of America and Subaru Japan to approve Ultimate ADAS for Subaru dealers,” said Kaleb Silver, Hunters director of product management in a press release from Hunter. “Subaru has been a leader in the ADAS market for many years, and Ultimate ADAS gives their dealer and collision network access to the industry-leading ADAS calibration technology to service and document more vehicles more efficiently.”
Ultimate ADAS combines alignment technology with a guided target placement system. The system is intended to eliminate error-prone manual layouts that are common to static ADAS calibrations. Subaru is the fifth OEM to approve Hunters Ultimate ADAS, following Nissan, Acura, Honda and Infiniti.
The key component of the system is gimbal-mounted lasers, which is designed to reduce setup time by up to 70 percent for certain procedures. The lasers, paired with on-screen guidance can increase target placement precision by automatically taking into account and adjusting for non-level floors. They also monitor for placement errors and confirm accuracy with laser measurements.
