The session, titled Mind Over Mood: Your Power Starts With You, will take place Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. EST at Tropicana’s centre on Huntingwood Drive in Scarborough. Youth between the ages of 11 and 25 are invited to attend.
Led by speaker and youth advocate Tenisha Noel, the workshop will focus on mindfulness and self-leadership, with practical strategies to help young people stay focused, maintain a positive outlook and step into their own power.
Organizers say the event is designed to encourage youth to see themselves as leaders in their own lives. Light refreshments will be served.
Tropicana Community Services is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1980 to serve disadvantaged youth and their families. The organization runs a number of programs and specialized skills and training initiatives. Notably, its Auto Body & Collision Damage Repairer 310B Pre-Apprenticeship Program has graduated multiple classes and works in partnership with industry and educational bodies to help address skilled-labour shortages in Ontario’s collision repair sector.
While there is no cost to attend, registration is required. More information and sign-up details are available at tropicanacommunity.org/mind-over-mood.
