Saskatoon. Saskatchewan -- Applications are open for the Saskatoon Industry Education Council’s (SIEC) Autobody Skills Bootcamp, a fall program giving students hands-on experience in autobody service and repair.

The bootcamp, delivered in partnership with Saskatchewan Polytechnic, runs Tuesdays from Oct. 28 to Dec. 9 at Estey School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. One session will also be hosted at a local autobody shop.

SIEC, a non-profit organization that connects students, educators and industry partners, develops programs to help young people explore career options and build job-ready skills. The autobody bootcamp is one of several initiatives designed to introduce youth to trades and technical careers.

The program is open to students who enjoy working on cars or restoring classics and want to explore career pathways in the automotive sector. Instruction will be provided by qualified teachers, with a focus on practical skills, industry expectations and the daily realities of autobody repair.

Applications are due Oct. 14. Students must submit a teacher recommendation, health card number and parent or guardian contact information as part of the process.

SIEC says the program provides a valuable first step for those considering careers in the automotive sector, offering early exposure to the tools, techniques and workplace environment of autobody repair.

More details and registration information are available at saskatooniec.ca/autobody.
