Registration has opened for a free webinar on assessing the quality and fit of aftermarket sheet metal used in vehicle restoration.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) will host “Aftermarket Restoration Sheet Metal (Pros, Cons & SOPs)” on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 5 p.m. ET.

Kevin Tetz of Paintucation will explain how to assess replacement panels, including construction integrity and e-coat durability. He will also cover ways to check whether panels fit a vehicle and how to address fitment problems.

The session will focus on distinguishing quality replacement parts from poorly made copies. Differences in manufacturing quality, fit and finish can complicate parts selection for restoration work.

Live participants will receive a certificate of attendance by email within one week. People unable to attend can still register to receive information about a recording, if available. Registrants will receive priority access.
