
Toronto, Ontario -- The Canadian Auto Care Industry Conference will take place March 11 and 12 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto Airport & Conference Centre.
The two-day event will combine national programming from the Automotive Industries Association of Canada with collision-focused sessions from the Canadian Collision Industry Forum. Its discussion will centre on workforce challenges, industry data, government policy and operational issues affecting repairers, suppliers and service providers.
The opening keynote will be delivered by Emily Chung, president and chief executive officer of AIA Canada (pictured left), who leads the association’s work on advocacy, workforce development and industry strategy.
A panel discussion on workforce development and retention will follow, featuring Stephanie Cooney-Mann, general manager at UAP Inc. (second from the left); Chris Theodoratos, director of operations at Mr. Lube + Tires Canada; Hitesh Patel, director for Canada at Transtar Industries; Shannon Miller, executive director of Accelerate Auto; and Saifullah Sanaye, chief executive officer of The Mechanic and Technician Upskilling Canada (second from the right).
Additional first day sessions will include a discussion on young professionals in the auto care sector led by Pruthvi Brahmbhatt, senior manager of market development and planning at UAP Inc., along with an industry outlook presentation by Ryan Robinson, automotive research leader at Deloitte.
The conference will also include the presentation of the AIA Canada Distinguished Service Award and the Young Professionals in the Auto Care Sector Young Leader of the Year award, recognizing individual contributions to the industry.
Later programming will feature a policy-focused session examining how federal election outcomes have affected the auto care sector, presented by David Coletto, founder and chief executive officer of Abacus Data, and Emily Holtby, vice-president of government relations at AIA Canada.
The second day will focus on collision repair through Canadian Collision Industry Forum programming, including a vendor showcase and sessions addressing business performance, human resources and vehicle technology.
