Waterdown Collision is participating in the annual Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History on Sunday, May 31, 2026, to fundraise for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is “the most common, fatal, genetic disease affecting children and young adults in Canada,” according to CF Canada. Primarily affecting the lungs and digestive system, the disease causes thick mucus to build up in the body, causing chronic lung infections and lung damage, pancreatic insufficiency and CF-related diabetes.
For Waterdown Collision, the goal to make CF History is a personal one, as Dante DiFelice, one of the sons of Waterdown Collision owners Max and Patty DiFelice, lives with CF. Waterdown Collision has been raising funds for Dante’s Journey to the Cure through its Tire Swap Fundraiser and has raised more than $5,000 for CF Canada this spring.
“Community has always been at the heart of what we do here at Waterdown Collision,” said Dante DiFelice in a video posted to Waterdown Collision’s YouTube channel, noting that they have supported local families and initiatives in the community for more than 50 years. Registration for the walk is at 9 a.m. at Bayfront Park - 200 Harbour Front Dr, Hamilton, Ontario. Participants are encouraged to wear an orange shirt or Dante’s Team T-Shirt.
Support from family, friends and the community has resulted in Dante’s Charity Drives raising more than $350,000 for CF Canada over the past 18 years. This is the first walk that the DiFelice family will be unable to attend due to a family wedding, something the Difelices wanted to share in Waterdown Collision’s press release, because the community has continually shown up and walked to support Dante’s Journey to the Cure.
“While we’re disappointed to miss this year’s event, we are INCREDIBLY grateful for this amazing community and know the Walk will continue STRONG with all of you there supporting the mission to Make CF History,” wrote the DiFelice family. Donations can be made to Dante’s Journey to the Cure team page to help support critical research and improved treatments, providing hope for families affected by CF.
