On the Move: Pro Spot appoints Shawn Collins training director

Pro S Pot

Shawn Collins is being appointed as the training director of Pro Spot International.

In a press release, the welding and collision repair equipment manufacturer described the move as part of a broader strategic expansion of the company's training capabilities designed to meet the collision sectors need for advanced technician education.

In his new role, the ASE Master Technician and I-CAR Platinum-certified collision technician -- who has served as an I-CAR instructor for more than 25 years -- will oversee the development and expansion of Pro Spot's training programs, working with shops, distributors, and industry partners to bridge the gap between advancing repair technology and technician readiness.

"Shawn is one of the most respected technical trainers in the collision repair industry, and we've wanted to bring him onto our team for a long time," said Ron Olsson, president of Pro Spot International.

Before joining the company, Collins spent 14 years as the advanced application engineer and lead structural trainer for 3M. In that role, he led the development of repair procedures and application methods for the collision repair industry, including welding and joining technologies, structural adhesive systems, and paint, body and equipment applications.

"Bringing Shawn on board is one of the many investments we are making in training and development for the techs who use our products every day," Olsson added.
