Toronto, Ontario – In this weekly Tuesday Ticker, the Government of Nova Scotia has announced that it is removing Tesla vehicles from its electric vehicle rebate program due to the automaker’s involvement with the United States’ government.

According to the Government of Nova Scotia in a recent official statement, the province has become the latest in the country to remove Tesla vehicles from its electric vehicle rebate program due to CEO Elon Musk’s association with the United States’ government and its tariff threats.
Last Friday, the Progressive Conservative government reportedly joined with the NDP and Liberal parties and unanimously voted to remove the automaker from the province’s rebate program—which currently provides subsidies from $2,000 to $3,000 per purchase.
This decision follows in the wake of Manitoba’s government removing Tesla and Chinese-made EVs from its EV rebate program, while British Columbia’s hydro also recently banned new Tesla products from its own rebate initiative.
According to original reports from CTV News, the automaker has not yet released an official statement in response to these recent provincial decisions.
As of Monday, 2:15 p.m. ET, Tesla stock traded at USD$273.89, a 10.25 percent increase.
