Painting the WorldSkills’ Stage: BASF Coatings renews partnership with WorldSkills International

Toronto, Ontario — BASF has announced that its paint brand, Glasurit, will continue to be the exclusive Global Industry Partner of the WorldSkills International trades competition in the car painting skills category.

According to a recent press release, Glasurit will continue to leverage the advanced waterborne basecoat system 100 Line.

Furthermore, participants will learn to integrate Refinity in their daily work routine, an exclusive digital platform for colour, training and business solutions.

“We are proud to continue to support the young talent taking part in WorldSkills to develop their skills and also attract new talent to the exciting automotive refinish industry,” said Chris Titmarsh, senior vice president, Global Automotive Refinish Coatings at BASF in the release.

“Our Global Industry Partnership further helps to strengthen the community’s mindset to collaborate for a more sustainable future and work together to raise the bar for developing talent in the industry,” Titmarsh continued.

The world’s largest skills competition, WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, will take place on September 22 to 27, 2026 in Shanghai, China.

“Around the world, every day, WorldSkills members are developing the ambitions and talent of skilled talent to solve the most pressing issues of our times,” said David Hoey, CEO WorldSkills International in the release. “BASF Coatings’ Leadership provides our young talents with access to the industry’s best resources and equipment to ensure they can shine on the global stage,” Hoey concluded.
