Training Focus: VCC fundraiser targets automotive education

Vancouver Community College will hold its annual Flourish fundraising event on Thursday, March 5 at its Broadway Campus in Vancouver, with proceeds directed toward automotive and clean-technology training through the Centre for Clean Energy and Automotive Innovation.

Flourish 2026 begins at 7 p.m. at 1120 E. 7th Ave. According to the college’s event page, the fundraiser supports hands-on education and student success, with this year’s funding earmarked for training needs connected to the Centre.

The focus comes as service departments across the automotive industry continue to face technician shortages and increasing vehicle complexity. As vehicles incorporate more electrification, software and advanced diagnostic systems, training institutions face growing pressure to maintain current equipment and facilities to prepare graduates for modern repair environments.

VCC’s Centre for Clean Energy and Automotive Innovation is intended to support industry-ready training for students pursuing careers in automotive and related clean-technology fields.

Flourish is positioned as a mechanism to support hands-on training programs at a time when hiring and retention pressures remain elevated across the sector.

More information and ticket details are available through Vancouver Community College’s Flourish 2026 event page.
