Toronto, Ontario -- AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes has announced a collaboration with Solera to enable data-driven technology across the vehicle repair industry.
Solera, a vehicle lifestyle management software company has partnered with the paint manufacturer to help bodyshops and insurers measure and reduce CO2 emissions that have been linked to vehicle repairs. AkzoNobel will be integrating product data from their Carbon Pulse tools and CO2eRepairCalculator into Solera’s Sustainable Estimatics platform.
“Through this partnership with Solera we are helping bodyshops choose the right coating systems,” says Ignacio Román Navarro, business director automotive and vehicle finishes EMEA, in a press release. “It will now be possible for them to select the right systems that best match their operational needs and combine faster process times with lower energy consumption, which in turn reduces carbon emissions. We know that actionable insights are crucial to making more sustainable choices. We are providing the tools and transparency to make those decisions simpler, faster and more impactful.”
The collaboration will allow bodyshops to gain insight on the carbon emissions made by their repair setup, with the system being able to account for the specific paint used, spray booth time, drying temperature and VOC emissions.
This partnership is a part of ongoing commitments from both AkzoNobel and Solera to work towards a more sustainable vehicle repair industry.
