Toronto, Ontario -- In this week’s Recall Round-Up, Ford calls in more than 100,000 vehicles due to fuel pump failure, Audi alerts the public to high-voltage battery fire risk and Toyota orders 11,000 Tacomas in for repairs due to damaged rear brake hoses.
Ford Recalls More Than 100,000 Vehicles Over Fuel Pump Failure
Ford recalled more than 100,000 vehicles in Canada over the risk of low-pressure fuel pump failure. According to Transport Canada, if the low-pressure fuel pump fails, the engine may run rough or not start, and the check engine light may turn on, potentially resulting in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Owners will be notified by Ford via mail. Corrective actions are still under development.
107,534 vehicles are affected and include the following:
- Ford Bronco (2021, 2022)
- Ford Expedition (2022)
- Ford Explorer (2021, 2022)
- Ford F-150 (2021, 2022)
- Ford F-250 Super Duty (2021, 2022, 2023)
- Ford F-350 Super Duty (2021, 2022, 2023)

Fire Risk From High-Voltage Batteries Results in Recall of 702 Audi PHEVs
702 plug-in hybrid vehicles in Canada have been recalled by Audi due to fire risk from overheated high-voltage batteries. An overheated battery can create smoke or heat, melting or damaging the battery and nearby parts.
The Transport Canada recall replaces a previous recall from 2024, so vehicles repaired then do not need to be repaired now. The 2022 Audi A7 and 2022-2024 Audi Q5 are affected, with Audi recommending owners not to charge their PHEVs until repairs are completed.
Audi will notify owners through mail, advising them to take their vehicle to a dealership to install an advanced diagnostic software that will monitor the high-voltage battery and provide a warning if a problem is detected. Those who receive this warning should contact a dealership and arrange a replacement of the affected battery module.
11,086 Toyota Tacomas Recalled Over Potential Brake Hose Failure
On July 7, 2025, Toyota issued a recall for more than 11,000 2024-2025 Tacomas over issues with the rear brake hoses. According to Transport Canada, under certain conditions, the rear brake hoses could become damaged and potentially fail, causing a brake fluid leak and reduced braking.
Only certain four-wheel drive vehicles with 16-inch brakes and 17-inch or 18-inch Toyota wheels are affected, and Toyota will notify owners by mail. Owners are advised to get their rear brake hoses replaced at a dealership. This recall replaces recall 2025-051 from Transport Canada. Vehicles repaired under the previous recall do not need to be repaired again.
