Toronto, Ontario -- Axalta-owned brand U-POL is launching range of body filler and glaze products under the name Tectium.
The lineup includes Tectium Elite Filler, Tectium Filler and Tectium Glaze. The company says these products are designed to help bodyshops complete repairs more quickly while maintaining a high-quality finish.
According to Axalta officials, the Elite formulation can allow repairers to move directly from filling to priming and painting in roughly 20 minutes, eliminating the need for a separate glaze step. The glaze is intended for fine surface correction and uses a fast-curing resin that “snaps” into a sandable state within minutes.
U-POL describes the products as easy to spread and sand, with strong adhesion to steel, aluminum and galvanized panels. The company also says the fillers leave a tack-free surface that can be primed and painted without extended drying time.
Axalta officials said the Tectium line complements its existing coating systems and is intended for high-volume repair environments where efficiency is critical.
The launch follows Axalta’s 2021 acquisition of U-POL, which expanded the company’s portfolio to include fillers, coatings and refinishing consumables aimed at professional bodyshops.
