Toronto, Ontario -- Caliber Collison, a collision and glass franchise with 1,800 locations across the U.S., is acquiring Car Body Lab, a mobile auto body repair business. According to the company, the move is expected to help expand Caliber's fleet service capabilities.

Car Body Lab will continue operating under its own name as part of the Caliber network. While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, the companies confirmed that Stephens Inc. acted as exclusive financial advisor to Car Body Lab throughout the process.

“The acquisition of Car Body Lab represents another milestone in our commitment to providing fleet managers with the highest value and consistency in repair service,” said Shawn Hezar, Caliber’s chief corporate development officer, in the release. “By bringing the repair to our customers, we are providing a faster, safer and more convenient solution to get them back on the road.”

Brent Jones, senior vice-president of operations and fleet solutions at Caliber, said in the release the deal strengthens the company’s footprint and digital capabilities. “We are committed to being the most trusted automotive services provider in every community we serve,” he said.

Car Body Lab founder and CEO Rudy Joudet will join Caliber as vice-president of operations. “By combining our expertise and Caliber’s scale, we will deliver quality repairs and service excellence with speed and precision,” Joudet said in the release.

Caliber employs more than 30,000 people under brands including Caliber Collision and Caliber Auto Glass.
