Canadian dealer-owned facilities earn less than 10% of total business revenues.
Dealership bodyshops accounted for 8.26% of total dealership gross in 2025, compared with 24.02% for service and 16.77% for parts, according to the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association.
The association released the figures Aug. 5 in its 2025 CADA Data Report. It also found new vehicles produced 34.52% of dealership gross, while used vehicles accounted for 16.42%.
Canadian dealerships recorded $33.1 billion in combined service and parts sales. The average dealership generated nearly $8.8 million in service and parts revenue and wrote 8,196 repair orders.
Dealerships wrote almost 31 million repair orders nationally and employed 96,717 service technicians, including bodyshop technicians. Average service and parts sales per customer repair order were $585.
“Affordability is one of the defining themes across the automotive retail sector, and nearly every dataset in this report reflects that,” said Charles Bernard, chief economist at CADA. “Elevated vehicle prices, financing costs and household budget pressures are prompting consumers to keep vehicles longer, focus more closely on monthly payments and seek greater value throughout the ownership experience.”
The report also looked into significant shifts in vehicle sales during the year.
