The Zanchin Automotive Group has launched a new student award at Georgian College’s Automotive Business School of Canada in honour of retiring employee Carmen Scaglione.
The scholarship, named the “Car-Man” Charisma Automotive Award in Honour of Carmen Scaglione, will be awarded annually to two full-time students enrolled in a degree or diploma program at the college’s Automotive Business School of Canada. Recipients will be selected based on financial need and their demonstrated commitment to automotive sales, including a strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
The company has committed to funding the award for a minimum of five years.
Scaglione is retiring after 38 years with Zanchin Automotive Group, where he built a reputation as a high-performing sales professional known for customer service and relationship-building. He is widely known by the nickname “Car-Man.”
The award is intended to recognize students who reflect the qualities associated with Scaglione’s career, including professionalism, enthusiasm and a customer-focused approach to sales.
The announcement comes as the company marks more than five decades in operation. Founded in 1973, Zanchin Automotive Group has grown to include more than 38 dealerships across Ontario, representing 19 automotive brands.
Georgian College’s Automotive Business School of Canada offers degree and diploma programs focused on preparing students for careers in the automotive sector, including roles in sales, finance and dealership operations.
