We’re now accepting applications for two Canada Summer Jobs internship positions, offering the opportunity to work across our print and digital brands — from magazines and websites to daily newsletters and social media. Expect a mix of creativity, collaboration and real-world experience in a fast-paced publishing environment.
The News Reporter/Journalist intern will jump straight into editorial production, writing and editing news stories, developing feature content and interviewing industry professionals. The role also includes adapting content for social platforms, applying SEO and AEO best practices and monitoring analytics to help shape coverage. Some travel to industry events and trade shows may be required – not a bad way to spend part of your summer.
The Media Sales Coordinator intern will support sales and marketing initiatives aimed at growing advertising across multiple platforms. Responsibilities include identifying leads, conducting outreach, maintaining client data and assisting with campaign execution using tools such as MailChimp, WordPress, Adobe software and CRM systems. The role also involves tracking performance metrics and contributing to sales strategy development — offering a front-row seat to how media businesses grow.
Both positions are designed to provide practical experience in a collaborative environment, with real responsibilities and real impact across a busy media operation.
Applicants must be eligible under the Canada Summer Jobs program, including being between 15 and 30 years old and legally able to work in Canada. Candidates should be currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a post-secondary program in a related field.
