Toronto, Ontario -- Polyvance president Kurt Lammon said the company’s Rebel Against Replacement campaign generated significant excitement among collision repairers at the 2025 SEMA Show.
"Our #rebelagainstreplacement message at SEMA resonated! We had so many visitors say that they're interested in writing for more labor hours by doing more hashtag#plasticrepair," he wrote in a social media post.
Polyvance’s Rebel Against Replacement campaign centres on promoting plastic repair as a practical alternative to throwing out damaged parts. The company says many plastic components on late-model vehicles can be restored to OEM specifications with the right tools and training, yet shops often replace them out of habit or time pressure.
By pushing technicians to “rebel” against that mindset, the campaign highlighted the value of repairing bumper covers, tabs, brackets and trim pieces to keep more parts in service, add billable labour hours and reduce waste. Polyvance positioned the movement as a way for collision centres to capture work they were already equipped to perform while demonstrating a stronger commitment to repair-first practices.
Polyvance said its booth drew heavy traffic to its SEMA booth as attendees gathered around demonstrations and wore shirts supporting the campaign.
The company aksi announced three prize winners from its promotion. Josh Jaramillo won the grand prize, a Mini-Fuzer Pro plastic welder. Danny Bailar won second place, an Ultimate Welding Rod Assortment. Aaron Nesbitt won third place, a Mini-Weld plastic welder.
