SEMA Day 4: ADAS in the spotlight

Day3

Toronto, Ontario --  During the last day of the 2025 SEMA Show, many events focused on educating attendees about advanced driver assistance technologies.

Bill Bierier (left), global OEM and refinish technology specialist at BASF, presented data that connected pigment formulation with radar performance. He made it clear that colour selection was actually an important technical consideration.

Steve Dawson (middle), senior ADAS systems lead at Hunter Engineering, outlined planned camera and radar hardware changes now approaching production. He stated that collision operators would be required to adapt tools and procedures as these units entered circulation.

Joel Adcock (right), director of calibration software at Revv and a former dealership diagnostics lead, explained how software logic shaped calibration outcomes. He showed that documentation quality directly influenced the credibility of the final report.

Roger Marti, applications specialist at Snap-on’s John Bean brand with prior chassis alignment engineering experience, detailed the physical requirements for reliable calibration. His presentation focused on geometry, floor condition and spatial tolerances.

Stewart Peregrine, senior ADAS diagnostics manager at Autel and a former fleet calibration supervisor, identified platform-specific blindspots. He advised operators to flag those risk areas in advance of work.
