Going for the Goal: CARSTAR hosts celebration for Soo Greyhounds, CARSTAR Sault Ste. Marie

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario — On January 24, CARSTAR held a game night event at the GFL Memorial Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie to celebrate the Soo Greyhounds record-setting season.

According to a recent press release, the event saw nearly 5,000 fans packing the GFL Memorial Gardens, where CARSTAR worked to add excitement to the event by handing out branded hockey sticks as part of a special giveaway.

Additionally, lucky rows throughout the game were surprised with plushies from CARSTAR, and, during a bubble soccer intermission, fans had the chance to win gift cards. Other fans received exclusive CARSTAR swag bads, which included a free car detailing certificate for CARSTAR Sault Ste. Marie.

The press release further highlights how the evening also served as a celebration of CARSTAR Sault Ste. Marie’s success.

“It was an incredible experience to have CARSTAR host our team and our community at the game night event,” said John Trecroce, owner of CARSTAR Sault Ste. Marie. “The excitement in the arena was electric, and it was a fantastic way to celebrate the Greyhound’s winning season. We’re so grateful for the community for its support over our 30 years in the business and it’s a fun way to give back.”

Collin Welsh, Ontario zone director, CARSTAR Canada concluded that “we are incredibly proud to support John and his team at CARSTAR Sault Ste. Marie and witness the impact they’ve had on both their customers and the community. This event truly showcases the energy and spirit of not only the Greyhounds, but the entire Sault Ste. Marie area.”

The hockey event saw the Soo Greyhounds secure a 5-3 victory against the Flint Firebirds. Here, the excitement in the arena peaked when Ritchie, the standout goalie, made history by scoring a goal, earning the game’s number one star.
