IBIS USA is underway as collision repair leaders have gathered in Scottsdale to discuss the structural and technological pressures reshaping the industry.

Running through Tuesday and into Wednesday morning at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale, this year’s event signals a shift in tone, built around the theme “Connecting Changemakers” and a focus on direct, industry-wide dialogue.

The opening session set that tone.

Rex Green of Jefferies LLC opened with a market outlook that zeroed in on consolidation, capital pressure and the growing strain on repair economics—raising early questions about how long the current model can hold under increasing complexity.

Green highlighted that the industry is entering a period of “bitter medicine,” where declining claims, shifting consumer behaviour, and post-COVID market distortions are forcing operators to rethink their business models and focus on operational efficiency rather than continued consolidation.

He also emphasized a longer-term shift toward fewer accidents but more complex, higher-value repairs, pushing the industry to improve margins, rethink scale, and evolve into a more efficient, business-services-driven model.

Monday evening’s reception and dinner carried the momentum forward, giving attendees a chance to connect, compare notes and build on the day’s discussions.
